I'd focus on recovery and intellect if you're using doom fangs, strength is useless as you won't be wanting to stick your head out to melee everything in high level content, when you get a chance to melee, it'll be charged regardless of your stat, discipline is nice for suppression enemies and giving yourself a break or if you want to overload a champion.

If you're wanting to roll an ape melee build, you're going to want to stack stats into Strength so you can get those low CD's. And then pretty much you can choose whatever else you want based on your playstyle. Same stat principles apply to Titan that apply to Warlock and Hunter.
